Last week, some of my fellow American Life League employees and I traveled to Washington, DC.
We didn’t embark on our nation’s capital to lobby congressmen, to create a fuss about so-called “pro-life laws,” or even to engage pro-abortion lawmakers. We descended upon DC for one reason—to pray.
On October 12, a small group of us gathered in front of DC’s mega-Planned Parenthood facility to pray the rosary and carry images of Our Lady. Our quiet, peaceful, and prayerful group didn’t garner much attention, but we were not there to make a scene.

We were there to join what many of you do all the time—pray for Planned Parenthood on location.
This prayerful event marks two important things:
- The three-year anniversary of our Marian Blue Wave program, which now boasts 10,000 prayer partners and counting and has seen the closure of 67 Planned Parenthood locations in the last three years.
- The welcome of the Marian Blue Wave’s newest initiative, the Surge!
The Surge is focused on Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood by praying the rosary at every Planned Parenthood facility in the nation and throughout the world as often as possible and under the banner of Our Lady. As special forces, the Surge joins the huge army of prayer warriors that make up the Marian Blue Wave.
If you are already a member of the Marian Blue Wave, you do not need to rejoin to be a part of the Surge.
We invite you to continue your weekly prayers from wherever you normally pray, and when and if you can, grab a friend and an image of Our Lady and pray at a Planned Parenthood facility.
Every rosary, whether at PP or not, multiplies our effectiveness against evil.
